AFGE Represented at the 19th Annual Cesar Chavez March for Justice in San Antonio.
AFGE District 10 National Representative Al Moreno leads from the front and proudly represents AFGE!
The march is one of many celebrations of the life of Cesar Chavez, a man who rose from the fields of California to become one of the world’s most honored Labor icons. Because of him, workers across the country have safer working conditions, better wages, and lead more dignified lives. Chavez organized strikes and boycotts against agricultural companies and government policies which treated migrant workers as second class citizens. The work was hard and toxic pesticides endangered their health. With Dolores Huerta, he co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, later called the United Farm Workers union or UFW. Chavez dedicated his life to empowering the least powerful among us, inspiring millions, including one young AFGE member who served as his driver.
