AFGE Mentorship Institute:

Each One Teach One

AFGE’s mentoring program is designed to foster relationships and pass on skills between seasoned AFGE members and leaders (mentors) and new AFGE members and leaders in leadership roles (mentees). Each cohort will spend six months in the program with participants committing approximately 10-15 hours per quarter.

The key components of the program are simple:

  • Mentors and mentees will apply and complete a profile to be matched with one another
  • They will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate using an online portal
  • They will be expected to attend a conference with their partner on a regular basis

The application process for the next group of mentors and mentees is now open! The deadline for interested participants to apply is Friday, January 5, 2018. An interview based on your application will take place the following week. Selection and cohort assignments will be made by Monday, January 15, 2018. All those chosen for the program are asked to attend the onboarding workshop in February during the 2018 Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.

Applications due Friday, January 5, 2018
