AFGE’s Women and Fair Practices team is winning the fight against unfair treatment in the workplace. WFP attorneys are winning equal employment opportunity (EEO) cases, both in front of judges and through agency settlements.
WFP recently settled several cases involving discrimination based on age, race, gender, disability, reprisal, failure to provide a reasonable accommodation, sexual harassment, and working in a hostile work environment. These settlements resulted in the aggrieved employees receiving more than $104,000 in monetary awards, in addition to non-monetary remedies that included restoration of leave, reasonable accommodation, and changes to performance evaluations.
Fighting these cases is vital because it stops workplace discrimination and forces management to treat everyone with respect. By standing up for our members, AFGE helps protect your job, your livelihood, and your dignity on the clock.
Here’s a summary of recent settlement wins, totaling more than $104,000 in monetary awards as well as non-monetary remedies.

Learn how to fight back at AFGE S.T.A.N.D.
Winning these battles takes more than our WFP lawyers – it takes strong local leaders on the ground. To help local union leaders learn how to identify workplace problems and how to fight back, WFP is hosting a training conference from July 31 to Aug. 3 in Atlanta called Service Through Action and National Development (S.T.A.N.D.).
This conference will equip local representatives with tools and strategies to defend our members’ rights. Together, we can make sure every federal and D.C. government workplace is a fair place to work. Click here to register for the S.T.A.N.D. Conference today.
