When our members agreed at our 2015 National convention that more training and education was a priority for this union, we knew it would only make us stronger. Now, we are proud to introduce new ways to access information and connect with one another:
AFGE Learn
It’s a one-stop shop for training at AFGE. Any member – including local officers and stewards – will be able to log in to the online portal using their MyAFGE user ID and password. From there, you can access:
Online courses
Assessments
Handbooks and manuals
Much more
Stewards Training
Get what you need to represent our members effectively, online and at your own pace!
We've created a short online module series that takes you through what you need to know about being a steward. It's the foundation for much of the work you'll be doing as a problem solver, an organizer, and an activist. You are the voice of the workers and we are counting on you to make AFGE Big Enough to Win!
The Mentorship Institute
The AFGE Mentorship Institute will launch its first cohort of mentors and mentees in early 2017.
Mentors and mentees will apply and complete a profile to be matched with one another
They will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with GoToTraining
They will be expected to attend a conference with their partner on a regular basis
AFGE National President Everett Kelley called on President Trump’s nominee for general counsel of the Federal Labor Relations Authority, Charlton Allen, to withdraw from consideration in the wake of a news report revealing a history of racist, homophobic, and anti-Semitic views.
A new survey conducted by the American Federation of Government Employees reveals that many federal workers are facing significant financial pressures as housing costs, student loan payments, and dependent care expenses continue to rise.
AFGE is speaking out after the Department of Veterans Affairs issued new orders designed to suppress the rights of veterans within the LGBTQ+ community and the federal employees tasked with ensuring their health and safety.
