The Field Services and Education Department (FSED) is pleased to announce the offering of online training for Workers’ Compensation!
This course is designed to empower our locals and leaders to help members begin the claims process and equip them with the knowledge and skills to counter aggressive management tactics against federal employees. By the end of the course, you will be able to begin a claims process and demonstrate working knowledge of the rules and regulations, including the responsibilities of the employees, supervisors and union representatives.
Online Basic Workers’ Compensation Training for Union Representatives will be offered October 11 -12, 2017. The 2-day program begins each day at 09:00 a.m. EST and ends at 3:30 p.m. EST.
You must attend both days of instruction. We'll take a one-hour lunch break at 12:00 p.m. EST with a 15 minute break in the morning and afternoon.
You don't need prior experience to take the course. However, the local must commit a representative who will assist the membership with their workers’ compensation claims. Assistance can be in the form of education and guidance on the process and the benefits or in the form of representation in the appeals process for claims that have been denied.
Also, please join a test session to check your equipment connection prior to the conference . Some agency locations require permission or a special IT setup to join a conference. The registration confirmation email will contain a link to join a test session, a link to join the actual training session, and a link to download class materials.
