WASHINGTON— The American Federation of Government Employees’ (AFGE) National President John Gage and National Secretary-Treasurer J. David Cox will be featured this week on a special broadcast of AFGE’s radio program “Inside Government”. The show took place on location from AFGE’s Election 2008 Mobilization Conference in Pittsburgh, Pa. Gage and Cox will explain what’s at stake for AFGE members in 2008, and the importance of participating in the political process. United Steelworkers President Leo Gerard will also appear to talk about his union’s endorsement of John Edwards for President in 2008. The show will air on Friday, Nov. 2 at 10:00 a.m. EDT nationwide on www.federalnewsradio.com and 1050 AM in the Washington, D.C., area.
“Inside Government” is a one-hour weekly nationwide radio/Internet program dedicated to issues that impact all federal and D.C. government employees. In launching “Inside Government”, AFGE became one of the first unions and the only federal workers’ union to have a national broadcast program on the air.
The program, hosted by AFGE Assistant General Counsel Ward Morrow, can be heard Fridays at 10:00 a.m. EDT nationally on demand (available anytime) at www.federalnewsradio.com or 1050 AM in the Washington, D.C., area.
