At a time of critical understaffing for the VA healthcare system, the 2023 Restore VA Accountability Act is attempting to jeopardize collective bargaining protections and due process rights for hundreds of thousands of VA employees. The 2017 Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act which was a predecessor to this bill, was limited in scope and impact by federal courts and administrative agencies because key provisions of the law were illegally implemented by the VA.
