Day in and day out, Title 38 VA employees such as doctors and nurses, provide essential services to our nation’s heroes. And yet, for decades, the VA has denied collective bargaining rights and misused its power to refuse Title 38 VA employees the right to remedy compensation errors through grievance procedures for decades. Such unfair practices impact the VA’s ability to recruit and retain qualified medical professionals at a time of critical understaffing for the VA healthcare system. View AFGE's press release about VA Correct Compensation Act (H.R. 6538).
Bill 6538 would give Title 38 employees the same right that other VA employees are already entitled to, and help with crucial retention and morale issues. The VA cannot continue denying workers the pay they have earned. Read AFGE’s press release here for more information. To view the full bill, click here.
