Over the past year of uncertainty and disruption, many AFGE members and bargaining unit employees have been asking, “Where is the union?” At the same time, federal workers are being told by agency leadership and managers that they are no longer represented—that the union is gone. That claim is simply false.
Your union has stood strong since 1932, and it stands strong today. AFGE is actively fighting alongside you — each and every day. We are lobbying in the halls of Congress, challenging unjust actions in the courts, pushing back against the administration, elevating your stories in the media, and advocating for you at worksites across the country.
This fight is powered by members. On April 7, union members across AFGE District 3 came together for a virtual phone bank, reaching out to fellow members in Delaware and Pennsylvania to deliver a clear message: AFGE is here, and we are fighting for your jobs, your pay, your benefits—and your fundamental right to representation.
Over the past few weeks AFGE District 6 has also held virtual phone banks to connect with members across its region. District leaders, activists and staffers joined together to make more than one thousand calls to government workers. Through this initiative, members appreciated hearing from their union and participating in meaningful conversations about the issues facing federal employees.
There will be more opportunities to get involved. When members step up, our union grows stronger. And when we fight, we win.
