AFGE is asking the Senate to confirm the appointments of Susan Grundmann as a member of the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA) and Cathy Harris as chair of the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB).
The FLRA has hundreds of unfair labor practice complaints pending before it, and Grundmann’s confirmation means the agency will be operating with a full leadership slate for the first time in five years.
Likewise, the Merit Systems Protection Board has lacked a quorum for more than five years, resulting in a backlog of cases awaiting final decision.
Harris will restore integrity to the agency. She will rely on her extensive history handling workplace discrimination and retaliation cases as an attorney to bring thoughtful leadership to the agency.
AFGE looks forward to working with both agencies to restore dignity and fairness to these important administrative bodies.
