A little bit about Jose: Seven years ago, Correctional Officer Jose Rivera was brutally murdered while on the job. His killer chased him, held him down, and stabbed him multiple times. Jose was a 22-year-old Navy veteran who had been employed by the Bureau of Prisons for less than a year when he was taken from us. He was a war hero who dedicated his life to public service and defending the innocent. Now it’s our turn to honor him. Jose died to keep us safe, and we want to make sure no one ever forgets the ultimate sacrifice he made.
