Joseph P. Flynn Elected National Secretary-Treasurer

On October 1st, 2017 the AFGE National Executive Council held a special session meeting. In this meeting, the NEC unanimously elected AFGE National Vice President Emeritus, Joseph P. Flynn to the vacant position of National Secretary-Treasurer.
Flynn will serve as National Secretary-Treasurer, effective October 1, 2017 until a successor is elected at the 2018 convention elections in August. A former National Vice President (NVP) for District 4, Joseph P. Flynn has been an AFGE member since 1979 and served as NVP from 1999-2017.
“Thank you to former-National Vice President Flynn for agreeing to serve as AFGE National Secretary-Treasurer,” said AFGE President, J. David Cox, Sr. “Joe has a long history of dedication to union activism and to AFGE members. I welcome him back to the National Executive Council.”
“I am honored and humbled by this opportunity to once again serve AFGE,” said Flynn. “Thank you to the National Executive Council for their confidence in me to represent our union in this role as AFGE National Secretary-Treasurer. I look forward to serving our membership.”
