Good morning! Here’s an overview of what’s on tap today:
Last-minute check-in: Heads up, procrastinators: today’s your last chance to check-in for the convention. Check-in will be from 7:30-8:30 a.m. in Champagne Ballroom. No one without a badge will be allowed into the General Session.
General session begins: The convention officially kicks off as the General Session begins at 10 a.m. in Paris Ballroom. Doors will open at 9 a.m.
Nominations:Nominations for the three national officer positions up for election must be submitted today, in writing, to Election Committee Chair NVP Mario Campos or to the Election Committee by 4 p.m. The Election Committee will receive nominations from 1-4 p.m. today in Versailles Ballroom. Nominations must state the name of the candidate and the office for which they are nominated, and it must be signed by the delegate making the nomination.
Exhibits to visit: While most exhibits have shut down, M&O, GCO, and WFP will continue their exhibits throughout the week in Paris Foyer. Hours today are 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Visit the PAC table: AFGE PAC will have a mini exhibit throughout the week in the Paris Foyer. Hours today are from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Contributions to AFGE-PAC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Your voluntary decision to contribute more, less or not to contribute at all will not result in any favor or disadvantage in your relationship with AFGE.
District meetings: District meetings begin today and continue through Tuesday. Check the Convention App for the complete schedule.
Council meeting:NVAC Council 263 meets from 4:30-8 p.m. in Palace 7, while DECA Council 172 meets from 6:30-8 p.m. in Provence 2.
