Since the beginning of 2015, AFGE activists made it clear we wouldn’t go down without a fight. Through good old fashioned organizing, tough negotiation skills and thoughtful persuasion, we've made an incredible difference in the lives of thousands of government workers and millions of Americans.
It's quite an accomplishment considering where we've been. AFGE started as a small gathering of people who believed in good jobs, good government and the power of collective action. Nearly 84 years later, we've surpassed all expectations and reached our highest membership every at more than 300,000 members.

We organized thousands of employees at new units across the country, including 425 employees at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering and Support Center in Huntsville, AL; 190 employees at the Phoenix VA Medical Center; 49 employees at a VA outpatient clinic in Hines, Illinois; 120 employees at the Defense Contracting Agency at Buckley AFB; 116 employees at the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, and hundreds more.
Our hard-fought victories wouldn’t have been possible without your commitment to putting into action the tools, resources, and plans envisioned by the 700 AFGE leaders two years ago in Orlando. We’ve built on that Big Enough to Win vision, and the results speak for themselves.
The job of a good union member is never done and 2016 promises to bring new challenges and opportunities. And with the backing of 300,000 members, we're ready for whatever comes next.
