Mutual Aid Directory

Federal Assistance Programs
Federal employees furloughed from their jobs due to the government shutdown can apply for assistance purchasing food and other essentials through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).
The Trump administration announced funding for the programs would expire at the end of October due to the shutdown, but efforts were underway in Congress and in individual states to keep the programs operating.
