Domestic Violence is a health and safety issue that impacts the wellbeing of our colleagues and our workplaces. According to the CDC, in the U.S., 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men have experienced intimate partner violence, sexual violence, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime.
The COVID-19 pandemic has only worsened domestic violence in the United States and across the globe. The isolation, financial hardship, stress, and other issues brought on by the pandemic might trigger violence where there was none before or exacerbate it in households where violence is already a problem.
In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we invite you to join the Women’s and Fair Practices Departments for our Domestic Violence Virtual Training on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm (EST).
Disability Employment Awareness Month
In recognition of Disability Employment Awareness Month, we invite you to join the Women’s and Fair Practices Departments for the Relevant Factors in the Reasonable Accommodation Process Virtual Workshop on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (EST).
In this virtual workshop, you will learn about the legal definition and requirements of reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the types and examples of reasonable accommodations, and the process and best practices for requesting and providing reasonable accommodation.
Whether you are an employee with a disability, or a local representative, this discussion will provide you with valuable information and guidance.
