As a union leader, steward, organizer or activist, we know that building membership is one of our most important challenges. Current and potential AFGE members typically want to know what the real value of union membership is.
They'll ask, "What have you done for me lately?" The AFGE member-only benefit program can help you answer that question and help you to recruit and to retain members. Remind members– and tell potential members –that using one or two of these benefits can save them an amount equal to or more than the cost of their annual dues.
Use these resources to help you incorporate benefits in your organizing campaigns and increase your membership. One way is to download, copy and distribute one flyer of each benefit to your bargaining unit every week or every month.
There are currently 40 flyers for you to use as well as the leadership guide,
"Access AFGE," available in a PDF format.
Remember that this manual is only distributed to the Local officers, stewards and organizers to protect the integrity of the member-only program.

Don’t be fooled by the political leadership’s propaganda about how the MISSION Act will help veterans. It won’t. It is instead tearing down the VA, the lifeline for those on the front lines.
The Trump administration’s plan to move the headquarters of the Economic Research Service (ERS) out of Washington, D.C. hit a major snag as capital region lawmakers are pushing back against the relocation, which many sees as the administration’s attempt to politicize research and science.
