AFGE Strongly Supports Bills Providing Federal Workers with 3.5% Pay Raise Next Year

Federal Adjustment of Income Rates (FAIR) Act legislation introduced in House, Senate
WASHINGTON – American Federation of Government Employees National Secretary-Treasurer Everett Kelley issued the following statement in response to legislation introduced in the House and Senate (H.R. 5690, S. 3231) that would provide federal employees with a 3.5% pay raise in 2021:
“Federal employees work hard every day to provide services to veterans, warfighters, Social Security recipients, victims of natural disasters, and every American. Our members provide aviation and border security, protect our communities, and make sure that the food we eat and the products we use are safe for consumption.
“AFGE thanks Congressman Gerry Connolly and Senator Brian Schatz for introducing the FAIR Act. This legislation will not only help restore living standards of federal employees to pre-recession levels, but it will also assist in the recruitment and retention of a high-quality federal workforce.”
