AFGE believes Evans will stand for America’s public servants and veterans
WASHINGTON – The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) announced its endorsement of Chip Evans to represent Nevada’s Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Chip Evans believes America’s working families deserve better for their future,” said AFGE National President J. David Cox Sr. “He will fight to increase the minimum wage and defend working people’s voice on the job so safety and fair play never come second to profits.”
“Chip is a stalwart defender of veterans, and is deeply committed to ensuring that the VA gets the support it needs to give our nation’s heroes the quality care they’ve earned,” Cox said.
AFGE Local 2152 President - and veteran - John Copeland agreed with Cox, saying: "Chip Evans is a great friend to veterans and we're so proud to support him. As political attacks and threats of hospital closures have mounted, Chip stood shoulder-to-shoulder with veterans and the people that serve them to make sure veteran care is protected."
"Chip Evans has always been a friend to the hard-working federal employees that serve our veterans, assist our seniors, and protect our communities in northern Nevada,” said George McCubbin, AFGE District 12 National Vice President. “With so much at stake this election, we need fighters like Chip Evans in Congress."
“I am honored to have the endorsement of the American Federation of Government Employees,” said Evans. “For too long, our elected officials have put politics ahead of people. I will continue to fight alongside AFGE to make sure that all working people have a fair shot to build a better future for their families.”
