The next time you purchase a ticket for a Broadway musical, make sure it’s the cast of Equity actors – performers who belong to the union and are protected against unfair treatments such as unreasonable performance demands.
Actors are just like us – they support families, pay bills, need health insurance, and save for retirement. But some touring productions are nonunion and so the artists are not guaranteed the same job protections.
