AFGE Local 1444 represents bargaining unit employees at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The union was chartered in the spring of 2023, and is fighting to give staff a seat at the table in decisions that impact our lives. As we bargain our first contract, our priorities are:
- Better Pay: The union is fighting to ensure that MCC staff have salaries that are on par with, or better than the GS scale. This means getting annual increases that match or exceed the GS COLA and step increases and ensuring our pay bands are at or above the GS scale.
- Telework Flexibilities: The union is bargaining for common-sense telework flexibilities that maximize staff productivity by ensuring that staff can work from home when not needed in the office, and that when staff come into the office time can be used productively.
- Equity at Work: The union is advocating for equity for all in the ways that the agency applies policies across gender, race, and other demographics. This means working with the agency to ensure that processes for promotions, raises, and other benefits are fair, objective, and transparent.
