(WASHINGTON) – Today, AFGE congratulates Sgts. Kimberly Munley and Mark Todd, who received the Top Cop Award by the National Association of Police Organizations. Sgt. Todd and Sgt. Munley are civilian police officers who heroically defended the Ft. Hood military installation against a terrorist attack. Munley and Todd are members of AFGE Local 1920, which represents thousands of civilian employees on the base.
The Top Cops Award program pays homage to America’s outstanding law enforcement officers, highlighting those who have made a significant contribution to our country above and beyond the call of duty.
“We hope this recognition educates the public on the ways they are served by their government,” said John Gage national president of the American Federation of Government Employees. “Kim and Mark are shining examples of the millions of public sector workers who have dedicated their careers to making America work.”
Sgts. Todd and Munley were officially named America’s Top Cops as a team during the National Association of Police Organizations award ceremony held at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.
